What is Sport and Performance Psychology?
Sport and Performance Psychology is a domain that supports your technical training and ability by developing various mental skills that allow you take maximize your overall potential in your field. Although we cannot control the things that happen to us, we can control how we respond with the appropriate mindset and a level of compassion.
You're a performer. Whether you are playing a sport on an athletic field, a musician on stage, an actor in front of the camera, a teacher giving a lesson, a doctor performing a surgical procedure, or one of several other performance domains, there are internal and external expectations for your performance. You spend years developing the technical skills required to perform your best, but how much time do you spend on the mental skills necessary to perform at your best when your best is required?
My aim as a consultant is to educate and train my clients in the various aspects of sports psychology to maximize performance and enjoyment for themselves as well as other stakeholders.
